Am I being silly or did I hear right when someone said if water goes into the horses ears (alot of water) it can drown them??
Not that Iam planning on putting water in their ears mind, just saw a vid of a horse fall in water and someone had said it might drown them??!?

I think they mean the horse thinks it is drowning, not that it will drown them. Most horses hate having getting their ears wet.

sorry, no help, but that is one of the oddest things i have ever heard.. and i don't actually see how it can, because if we get water in our ears we don't drown. straaaage.

I accidentally got water in one of my mare's ears last year. She tipped her head just at the wrong moment when I was bathing her. I felt terribly guilty afterwards - she thought her ear was broken and it stayed at half mast for most of the day! The other one moved around and when she heard her tea she pricked it, but the wet one was just limp!
