So I think my horse might have got an abscess from standing on something in a grubby water jump thing (not recently, ages ago) - he did a little stumble while we were in it but didn't go lame, got progressively more negative throughout the ride then got a abscess a few days later. It's just made me think about how much could be in the bottom of them and how maybe I'm a cow for telling my horse to get on with it and go in water, no questions asked (I'm already a cow for having told former horse to get on with it and go in the sea, no questions asked, and he got stung by a jelly fish ) Do equestrian centres clean out the bottom of water jumps, ever? Can they, or might they be full of old shoes, nails and litter?
