My horse, he seems to be drinking so much more than usual.

He used to not even finish 1 bucket of water and now drink two bone dry??

Its not a big problem to me off course i was just wondering whether anyone elses is drinkng alot more recently?

Lila , have you noticed how dry the air is at the moment with the sub zero temperatures. The big give away for me is taking Bob the (not a ) cobs rugs off. The static discharge is huge, this shows how dry the air is. The thing about these conditions is that horses need more water. Dont worry because he is drinking more, be content that you are giving him the extra water he needs.

Ours have been appearing to drink a lot, but unfortunately its due to their water drinkers freezing during the night and them being thirsty / dehydrated.
Could this possibly be happening?

(This problem is now fixed)

Dry air, dry food, and burning a bit more fuel to stay warm. Plus I think it's more noticeable if horses are doing most/all of their drinking inside.

Be grateful, I think lots of people are having trouble getting their horses to drink enough right now, which is far more dangerous.
