Just watching WEG. Can anyone tell me how far ahead the riders and /or teams would have known about the waterfalls on the XC course? Just thinking it wouldnt be that hard to build one at home for a quick practise!
I was wondering the same, Interesting that a new obstacle, if you like, at Burghley this year is an underpass (a tunnel under a mound) much like that at the WEG. A lot of the commentators talk about the " dropping the head as they go under" and " spooking at the underpass" before the fence. Also, I'm old enough to remember a waterfall fence at Burghley (maybe Badminton, but I think it was Burghley) a few years ago now but it didn't cause much of a problem. I find it hard to believe the type of fence is coincidental. If they can do it for this...
