(also in new lounge, sorry)
I've just put my boy back into his waterford for various reasons (as opposed to his normal french link- both bits are hanging cheek) but it struck me- is it ok to continue using his drop noseband with a waterford?
Also, I notice it sat higher in his mouth than the snaffle, so I dropped it down a hole each side but then it was too low so I currently have it 1 hole lower on one side than the other and it looks like it sits right, but is that ok or will it cause him to be sore/uneven?

Told you they were numpty questions but having a blonde moment!!!
Thanks

Yep you can still use a drop with a waterford.
I wouldn't be happy with having the bit uneven in his mouth though, i'd have it it may just be that the hanging cheeks are shorter or longer than your old one :)

I often have the cheekpieces on a different hole on either side but you need to give the headpiece a wiggle so that the bit is not actually wonky in the horses mouth if that makes sense? It seems to allow a little bit of extra adjustability. X

I've had bits on different holes on the cheekpieces before, because that was the only way the bit sat level. Sometimes one or other cheekpiece is stretched/isn't a matched pair/the holes aren't set equally. Same with stirrup leathers. If the bit is in the right place and the whole bridle sat where it should be and your horse is comfortable, I wouldn't worry too much.

Agree. /\ . And a drop noseband is OK too. Waterford is a great bit. It is a very kind bit (unless some eejit drags it backwards and forwards in the mouth.
