waterfords & nosebands

do you ride in a waterford with a flash or a grackle?

i was always told not to as most horses play with the waterford.

I ride my mare in a waterford gag and a flash and had no problems!!

I ride my showjumper in an NS waterford showjumper with a flash and have never had problems either ! wasn't aware you wern't ment to . Whoops

I jump mine in a grackle and waterford and have no problems either!

I ride my guy in a Full Cheek Waterford Snaffle with a flash with no problems at all..

i never thought it was a problem but when i spoke to someone who is a instructor about my lad they said don't put a flash or grackle on him while he is in his hanging waterford

Mine hunts in a waterford nelson gag & grackle & unless noseband done up properly (not too tight still get fingers in) I don't have control as much.
If a noseband is donr up correctly so that you can get 2 fingers in then the horse can still play with the bit. You don't want it chopping away on it though??

One of mine is in a waterford snaffle with a flash and I haven't had a problem with it.

My friend has just started jumping her horse in a waterford gag & a flash & he goes fab in it. Another one she rides goes well in the gag & a grackle.
