Watermelon

Random post really...I saw an animal rescue program on Animal Planet the other day and one of the underweight mares with a foal at foot was being fed a watermelon....has anyone tried their horses with this? Thought it would be great as a cooling down treat and to hydrate my mare as we're going on a LDR tomorrow

I have chewits and choccie biccys on offer if anyone can help?!!

i gave my boy some last summer but he just spat it out lol he doesnt like bananas strawberries or grapes either lol x

I replied to the thread but it didn't show up

In cyprus we used to feed watermelon loads, they all loved it and was great for hydrating them!

Probably a really silly question, but do they eat the skin/rind/whatever it's called too? My lot will eat bananas skin and all if I don't peel them quick enough!

Pinkatc...I've watched a video on youtube and the horse appears to be eating the skin too so i assume thats ok?
