I have 2 pairs of 'waterproof' breeches

Mountain Horse - have had a lesson in these and got soaked (eg so rainy reins start slipping) and they only got a little wet in down one seam.

I also have Irideon breeches from USA which are waterproof and haven't been caught out in a storm yet but have had buckets splash on my legs and snow and still nice and dry....

I don't think any of these traditional breeches are 100% waterproof due to the stitching holes, if it's ultimate waterproofing you are after then racing waterproofs are mega....

Oh and on another note waterproof breeches do get quite hot in non cold wet weather, but deffo worth it I think wear mine all the time in winter :)

They are pretty smart. They are for competition use as otherwise I ride in chaps at home in the rain so puts the Ornellas out.

I ordered a pair of the Derby House breeches to try and keep me dry at competitions. They felt nice and soft but they were too small so I had to send them back. Sorry I'm not much use answering your question.
