I was chatting to a friend online the other day who does a lot of walking, we got talking about leaky boots and wet feet (as you do) and he told me he uses waterproof socks! I had never heard of such a thing, and I really thought he was joking, but sure enough a google search has turned up loads of waterproof socks.

They're not cheap, but they are a lot cheaper than a new pair of boots - so does anyone here use them? And do they actually work?

Sealskinz make them. I've got a couple of pairs. They're good, although they're not as stretchy as normal socks. I don't think they're particulary expensive as far as I can remember.

I bought them after I went through a period of multiple welly failures - Hunter wellie's you won't be suprised to hear! I now wear Aigle wellies, so havn't needed waterproof socks since geting those :)

I've got Sealskinz socks too due to leaky boot syndrome.. Work well for me and OH uses them whilst scuba diving..

They're not cheap but they are worth it in my humble opinion..
