I am looking for a new pair of waterproof trousers and was wondering which ones you guys recommend I work outside as a groom so they need to hold up to the job of being wet quite a lot!!! Thanks in advance

Farmer gummies! You sweat in them - a lot! Though as they aren't breathable.

If you want breathable then look the racing ones - jomulti or carberry or the likes. Avoid Ornella Prosperi - they are crap now! They used to be epic but not any more unfortunately!

I get Helly Hansen waterproof trousers from Screwfix, I'm a size 10, the mediums fit fine as they have an adjustable waist. I have to chop the bottoms off but have to shorten most. Properly waterproof and sort of breathable, they spend the winter on my wellies!

Have a look at the Jack Pyke waterproof trousers. I have been through a lot of kit over the years, including Berghaus etc. I now have Jack Pyke jacket and trousers, not had chance to get it soaking yet but it does receive good reviews and is not stupidly expensive.

The best I have found is decathlon kipwarm waterproof breeches. They have a fleece lining and keep you warm and dry and are good to ride in.

I have these ones. Just treated myself to a 3rd pair - first pair lasted ages but second pair met an untimely demise after an ambitious scramble over a fence and I split them! :o They aren't rustle-y like some pairs, have a light lining so don't stick to you, a handy pocket and have kept me try in some pretty torrential rain.

I also have fleece lined full chaps which are great for colder days and riding in but admittedly not so great if it's raining. Something like these ones:
