I have a Birthday coming soon and want to get OH to buy me something useful.

I would like a Very waterproof windproof Riding coat Hip length not full length with plenty of pockets and either a removable fleece interior or a warm interior.

Oh and Machine washable too!!

I found the best place to buy warm & dry clothing is the sport shops, far, far cheaper than the named horse rider clothing and tack shops.

I've got a Joules Dakota coat and it's really good. Completely waterproof and windproof, I rode in it on a north coast beach riding into the wind and driving rain and was bone dry when I got back to the lorry!

Picked mine up for £50 but even at £90 I think they are great, best coat I've ever had.

Agreed... or wait a few more weeks until the ski wear comes in to TK Maxx for lots of bargains. I got a fantastic two-layer hip length coat from there last year and it's been brilliant for riding.

Otherwise the Mountain Horse, Musto and Horseware jackets are all very nice

Musto snug or the combination jacket. The Joules eventer is actually very good too (was VERY surprised but it's been tried in ALL weathers)
