I'm going to a camp at the end of April and planning on sleeping in my trailer:o! Only prob is that is doesn't have any rear doors above the top of the ramp.

Any ideas on how I can make it so the rain doesn't come in at the back whilst I'm sleeping?!!:D

I'm thinking some sort of tarpaulin type of design but not sure what to fasten it down with?? Weight it??

He he he, have fun!! I think I'd be tempted to park it so that it was ever so slightly downhill, so that anything that gets past your barrier runs straight out the bottom of the ramp.

What about putting it up from the inside with brown tape or something? If you secured the top inside and the bottom outside, that would make most of the rain land & run off outside.

You could always take a bivvy bag (plastic survival bags available online from about £3, breathable goretex ones from about £20+.

April camping - you are brave! :D I would also take lots of big binbags and some tarp for inside your trailer home - you might want to lay it down before you put your posessions down if your horse pooed/weed on the way, or you might want to use it over your dry clothes bag - nothing worse than wet clothes! I'd also guess you're going to be cold, so as well as a sleeping bag take a thermal reflective blanket, something to sleep on (insulation from the underneath is just as important as on top), maybe some of those heat packs you just click a button to activate, and a hot water bottle, and a flask so you can have a brew without trekking all the way to the electricity & kettle facilities.

The other thing is are you going to have a vehicle there, and if so is that big enough to sleep in? That'd be waterproof ;)

We always stay in a trailer at any of the shows we go to. Tarpaulin over the top with bulldog clips is DEFINATLEY the way forward. It keeps you really really warm. Also, take a rug or bit of carpet with you to put on the floor for extra warmth and comfort

Hey, I didn't think about that!! I've got a stonking great big old Discovery!!:D Might be best putting all the seats down and kipping that!! Would have squeeze between the tack and other stuff stored in the car, but you're right, it'd be a damn lot warmer and drier than the trailer!!:)

I have super-dooper all-singing all-dancing sleeping bag and was going to lie on an inflatable mattress. But yes, lots of bin bags for clothes etc!

Anyway I'm going for the May Day/Royal Wedding Bank Holiday weekend, so it'll be glorious weather I tell thee!!!

We cover our trailer in a big tarpaulin from halfords which has holes with metal rings round the edge - we then use baler twine to tie the tarpaulin on, through tie up rings etc.

Defo rather sleep in car than trailer, slept in the back of a lorry and it was cold so trailer would be worse
