watton horse fair cancelled !!

No, but I'm glad, the only time I went I was so gutted by some of the animals which didn't sell, particularly an old donkey who had come over from Ireland and had feet in a bad state. I still feel guilty about the poor girl and wonder what happened to her.

Thank goodness I didn't go to see any of the puppies for sale or I would deffo come home with a car full.

After attending a meeting with Forest Heath Council,Fire Brigade & Police. They obviously did not want Travellers in the area, but were afraid to say so, unless they breached discrimination laws. So they brought out the Health & Safety
Book and made it vitually impossible to carry out their many
requests in time for the Sale to go ahead as planned on August 30th. So although the Sale has run extremely well
for some 25 years, if Officials decide to stop it, they will.
Will try again in 2010. The Sale was costing £7000 to put on
but with extra toilets costing a further £600 & 2 Police Officers
costing £1880.00. to covers these costs the Car Park and/or
other Entry Fees would have to increase.
