One last post before bedtime.
Me and my friend at the yard today were trying to work out how you teach a horse to 'wave'
I have started some basic clicker training with Roo and she seems to enjoy it. I have seen horses 'waving' a front leg in order to get a treat, but how would you teach that, and is it one of those tricks that once you've taught you wish you hadnt?

I agree with FL and Damnation - it's a terrible habit, and can result in horses aggressively 'kneecapping' innocent bystanders.

i personally wouldnt teach it, but thats just my opinion each to there own i guess...as for teachin them how to im not sure!

NOooooo don't teach them that! Unless you really really know what you are doing. A friend of mine taught her mare to do it years ago because it was 'cute', she now constantly attention seeks by pawing the ground and all the others have copied her (thankfully to a lesser degree).
