Just wondered peopel opinions of Harrys way of going
(For Showing)
I have been trying to work on are canter as i have been told it was to 'upright' for showing and he wasn't travelling enough
Here are a few videos from today and last week, What do you think. (they are slightly slower - not sure why, he doesn't move that slow)
I wont be offended, as i want to improve, so any constructive advice would be great

You should see the 'upright' canter in this next one (from last year)

God people talk some rubbish.

He's lovely, and has a super canter. Could be improved with a little adjustment on your part - don't ride with your hands in your lap. But I think he's great!

Gosh I'd kill for our canter to be a little less huge and more manageable like yours in the top videos!

I agree with Amymay that if you carry your hands a little more out in front then that may free him up a little, but still!!!

Wow - his canter has definitely improved! If I remember rightly he did have a tendency to be rather tight and short through his neck, but looks like he is more relaxed now

Well, he is some times lol!
He still has his moments. I think its more me as he has a habbit of bolting off in canter so i used to tense up, and 'hold' him there if you see what i mean. Lucky the lessons are helping me with that

You have your answer Sam - everyone likes the "slow motion" Harry, so that's what you need to do. Agree with the comment about your hands - you don't normally ride with them there!!!

I am no expert but his canter looks as if he is going no where. And he doesnt seem to use his back end.. Looks like he is cantering with as little effort as possible. Why don't you take him hunting to get some 'go' in him. i find this works. He has a fab gallop and uses his self and you can see he enjoys it... good luck! Nice welshie..
