We are back to one dog again.

And my house feels empty.

I feel like a numpty for saying that the foster dog we have had here for less than 2 weeks has left a huge hole in my heart with his passing.

He was taken into be neutered today and it was discovered he had tumors cutting off his intestine and they had essentially killed half of it. How he was still eating and pooping fine we will never know. We decided not to wake him.


Mahalo's court case finished which meant he was finally allowed out in public and without his muzzle.
We were at a fund raising event and the perfect family showed interested in him and it took me 2 weeks to decide that it would be the right thing to let him go to this family and then i could have space for one foster dog. So he left Thursday for his 2 week trial.

So its back to just me and Abe. I'm taking a month off from fostering. Working on getting Abe up on his herding skills and trying to learn to not let the little loves take up residence in my heart so easily.

Aw such sad news about the foster, but at least he had a happy 2 weeks with you. Good to here Mahalo has a new family, but must be hard for you, they become part of the family so quickly don't they.
Enjoy your time with Abe, bet it won't be long before you are helping another foster, and I suspect giving your heart to that one too.

ahhh, not a numpty, but someone with a big heart, who helped out a dog when he needed it and gave him a second chance - and someone who mourns him now he is gone.
