Hi guys and girls!

Just a fleeting update! Ben, bless him! Had a bit of an owchy on his leg after royal Cornwall. Cue, cold hosing, and lots of cuddles followed by a couple of weeks off. I started riding him again this week, with a view to a ridden class in 2 1/2 weeks. Up untill recently, Ben has had pretty much walk and trot in the school with a few strides max of canter. Day before yesterday and yesterday I had a cheeky circuit on each rein, he was a bit of a mother bucker ;) but we rode through this. Today though, I am so proud of him and he got bags of cuddles, he did two circuits on each rein and no bucks! I'm seriously hoping that we can have a good first ridden show in a little under three weeks. I will try to keep everyone updated with his progress on here. Since rc show he is so much more focused under saddle, and much more enthusiastic in the school. We are now starting to school at the same time as another horse so he can get used to standing still whilst horses are showing around him. At the show we are aiming for, there are two other coloured going to enter the same ridden class, we are shamelessly aiming for a 1,2,3 from us all (a long shot we know!) and hope to get a good piccy of us all too.

Not a huge update I know, but thought I'd post it anyway.

Oh and by the way, I completely forgot how different cantering on a hack was to cantering in the school... My but muscles really darn hurt!!!

:eek::eek::eek::o

That sounds like good progress :) I hope your class goes well

Happy days. Great progress and good luck for your upcoming class. Go Ben!! :)
Thanks guys! I really didn't want to let on to him that I found his bucks fun:p. I was strangely disappointed when there were none today:rolleyes: although I made sure to praise him to the hilt :D
