I stumbled upon a full agility course in our small indoor arena at work today :D

I have to go back tonight to check the horses over so I am obviously going to have a little play with Betsy:cool:

I am literally clueless when it comes to agility, we have done zero agility training so this could be hilarious.

Any tips? There are some little jumps (obv will lower for her tidgy legs), a tunnel, a half collapsed tunnel thingymajig and some scary looking climbing apparatus... oh and a see saw that I will be dodging.

I am obviously not going to throw her on the big scary stuff or chase her round for hours before anyone tells me I am evil. I just thought it would be a good chance for us to have a little try at some of the ground level stuff with minimal distractions.

I will take the camera!
 
Take food, don't *let* her run out of anything (go over it with her to begin with) don't pull or drag her over. With the tunnel you can scatter food along the length of it to encourage her in (but remove it all before you leave).

Keep away from the catwalk/seesaw/table for now as mentioned.
 
We are back and Betsy's brain has officially exploded.

The indoor is completely escape proof so we just let her off for a sniff etc first (When I say sniff please read hoooooooon) and she took herself over the humongous A frame!

When I managed to regain control with my trusty primula we did very well :D

She needed no encouragement to go in / on anything. She squeezed under the jump the first time but got the hang of it when I made it into a little cross pole for her :D She zoomed through the tunnel like a dog possesed :o

I actually enjoyed myself :o Pictures to follow!

Demz iz smashin' pikkies - youz looookz likes youz had a lota fun!

I did a jump de udder daaay - off a wall dat Muvver sez iz 'bout 1m 60cms high:eek:........An' I landed OK wivout 'urtin' meeeself, but Muvver grew a handful more grey hairz! ;) Shee izunt veree 'appy wiv me at de moment - mebbe dats why I didn't get noooo lunchies todaay......Dat, or shee plain forgot - 'ow kud sheee........:mad:;) I'm seriously konsiderin' packin' me bagz 'an leavin' 'ome........:D
 
Oh you are lucky thats my idea of heaven. Betsy looks like shes taken to it like a duck to water.

Are you going to sign up for this now, go on you know Betsy wants it.:D
 
yay she looks as if she had loads of fun :) is she mad for tennis balls by any chance? gizmo will do anything for his ball :)

Do you hand strip her? i only ask as i used to with gizmo he is like a fluf ball however this time around he has taken a big dislike to it bless him i would and i dont really want to muzzle him.

Aaaah Little bear! Betsy is not allowed at the computer tonight, she is learning to have some time on her own in her crate because she is a big baby who gets scared when she cant see her silly daddy:p

It is a possibility....but I am a lazy cow and i'm sure these posh clubs dont let you run around with a tube of primula constantly attached to your dogs gob :p

Oh yes.... the tennis balls are hidden in the house now and only come out for walks. Some clever ***** (OH) decided squeaky tennish balls were a good idea!

We have just started attacking her with a stripping knife / comb thingymajig and there is so much hair coming out and she STILL looks like a bog brush! B pulls faces when she gets bored of it but we just do little bits every day, now she just falls asleep :)
