Horse we went to see this evening was a sweetie. Nice lad, nice temperament, decent size and OH liked him - even our son liked him! He has been out of work a while so has no topline and a bit of a chubby waistline - no way is he fat though, just out of shape. Checked his passport and he is registered as an Anglo Arab, born in 2003, so only 6 years old. He was broken at four by the girlfriend of the guy selling him and he is only being sold because the guy has put on so much weight and now needs a bigger horse! My only quibble with him is he has a thickened fetlock on his left fore. It is obviously an old, old injury and the guy said it has never affected the horse's performance at all and he does move well - lovely action when he canters. We wont be using him for any more than an active hack anyway. I had a little ride and he was pretty responsive - once he realised you wanted to do some work and not just slop about. He might have been a bit surprised by the Dr Cook as well. He will be shod and delivered to friend's farm so we can see how we get on with him. His price is the princely sum of £850, so we are pretty pleased.
Anyway, no photos as my iPhone went off to the mendy man this morning but I will get some as soon as possible.
Oh yes, his name is Jiro, which is pronounced Hero.
