So I’ve had a bad couple of years with horses... the dream horse I bought was pts due to being knackered everything at 7 and the ish I bought to ‘replace’ her I have never got on with but had to have colic surgery so is not really saleable. I bought a little cob last winter whilst my big boy was on box rest and he’s never really felt like my horse — today we clicked — it was like a weird mutual thing... he said he was scared of a corner in the school, I said ‘ get on with it’ and he did ... when we’d finished he literally came for a hug and gave me a kiss with his top lip (something he’s never done before) ... it’s weird after a year of ownership he’s finally my horse...

i love that feeling!
Its take me a long time to click with blue. I clicked with the mare much easier despite her being a lot more difficult and doing less with her to start.

Aww so lovely to hear that.
I loved mine from day 1 (even though he’s been not the most straightforward) but he never really let me in.
This summer I got that from him and it’s wonderful. So many tears of joy and the more they allow you the better it gets.

I think it takes one of each season for a horse to really settle down after a move, some horses adapt quicker but many don’t and I think that’s why it takes a while to “click”.

his previous owner tried for 4 years, she gave him every opportunity and training etc and they just didn’t work.

I wish you so many more happy days xx
