Betsy has had her first bit of time off the lead (well it was still attached... I dont trust her quite that much!)
We started dropping the lead when we were doing some recall training in the field, then just let her wonder along near us
I dont even think she noticed she was off lol.
We were lucky enough to be invited out for walkies with Betsys boyfriend (The big old lab from next door!), she adores him and he tolerates her lol. His owners are lovely and suggested we let them have a play (I wouldnt have just let her harass him without permission - she really does LOVE him)
She had a huge hoon about the field chasing J, when I called for her she came back!!! We have some form of recall - even when her boyfriend is about! I'm so happy!
I will try to get some pics next time they have some play time together because it really is funny to see!
J was such a saint with her, not a grumble from him even when she was hanging off his ears and giving him lots of kisses!
At one point betsy did walk in between Js legs to play, he was up against a bush about to cock his leg and he peed on her.... stupid puppy dog.
We have been very consious of taking her to busy places for walks, places where there will be kids and plenty of other dogs because I am determined to have a well socialised pooch!
I cant help feeling guilty for not taking her to puppy classes, but OH and I work different days every week with very little warning so we couldnt commit to a course on a set day every week. She has also been very easy *touch wood* to train so far. I just think she really needs to play with another puppy or younger dog... so I look out for them on walks!
Ahhhh... I love my puppy!
