Well I posted here a few weeks ago about taking my Section A Bramble to our first show. Well we went this saturday and it was brilliant!
I'd wanted to go to the particular show for the past 8 years with my Shetland Tigger, but year after year something got in the way, and once again Tigs was lame and not in show condition this year however Bramble was.
To say I was nervous was an understatement, neither of us had ever been to one and the thought made me physically sick in the week before the show!
Bramble is normally a saint, she's perfect, but the week leading to the show she was an absoloute cow, not trotting in hand nicely or anything so this didn't help my nerves. Being a grey she was washed to the point of almost having no pony left. She never ever gets stable stains but friday night she had a rug on etc. and you guessed it, saturday morning she was covered in s***! Cue a panic from me!
When we got to the show she turned into a giraffe, jumping out of her skin at everything. I had to show her in a white halter which I don't like as I feel I have little control if she's being a tit and it doesn't sit as nice either.
We were entered in the Section A 2/3year old filly and gelding. Although there were 11 entered only 7 of us turned up.
I had to hold her tight to the halter because she either walked like a donkey or a raging bull, no compromises! When it came to our individual trot she almost ran me into the fence, I was gutted because she is normally so well behaved!
Despite this we were pulled in 6th against some lovely examples of the breed so I was happy.
When the judge gave us our rosette she said that Bramble was a lovely example of the breed and under another judge she could well have won, but she wasn't her type as her face wasn't the really 'puggy' sort within the breed.
Here's a link to the professional photos - you will see what I mean by the donkey/bull photos. Just flick through to see the few of her. The first link is a couple of her walking and the 2nd is a few of our awful trot!

And here's a picture from afterwards which I adore...
