I am so happy, my horse lost a shoe beginning August and farrier either didnt turn up or kept rescheduling appointment, then 3 weeks later my horse had an abscess and wouldnt let anybody touch his leg, then I was away for 2 weeks, once back I have made numerous attempts to get farrier with no luck.
Anyway 2 weeks ago I finally gave up and contacted a different farrier who only comes over every 6 weeks, well he came today dug out where the abscess had been (said it had been a huge one) and re balanced his fronts (if thats the right term) and put shoes on. New farrier was so good cause my boy can be a bit awkward but he was talking to him all the time and taking it slowly, did have to giggle though cause farrier was saying what a good little lad he was and my boy is 17hh.
So I finally managed to ride my horse after 12 weeks and it was heaven. The only down side now is the clocks have changed so cant get much riding in but the upside is new farrier is now coming over every 3 weeks so if he pulls a shoe I dont have so long to wait.
