out on our first ever solo hack without having to get off.
We are achieving a lot of things that may seem simple for others but are massive for us. Last week it was jumping 2'9. This week it was going out on our own and in the wind.
She is a very very very nappy horse so today I played the sit and wait game with little nudges and lots of praise. It took us half an hour to get down the half mile track from the yard with lots of stopping - 2 steps forward, one back kinda thing then one little whoosh with my reins over her shoulders and off we went - full pelt trot down the drive. Got to the end made her walk, straight onto the road without stopping at the end which she normally does and went past noisy rotweiler ( a bit faster than intended ), jogged a bit more then settled down for the ride back through the fields. Even had a canter! Lots of pats and a big apple for clever pony.
I am very pleased and will continue to work on getting round without any napping and then move onto going a bit further afield!
