My OH has just called me at the office to say we've been granated our austrailia visa! I'm so excited but at the same time apprehensive, I'll have to say goodbye to my horses. Pointless post but had to tell someone!

Thanks guys, I've enquired about flying Ryu out, Bails is too old for that kind of upheaval, its a bit out of our range and for the money I will get something nice out there hopefully.

Yay!

Excellent news. When do you leave? Time to start packing, what fun.

You must be so excited!

I know we enquired about taking Jack to New Zealand and we're quoted in the region of £9,000 to do it so im guessing its around the same sort of figure for Australia. We were going to take him with us due to the equine market over there not quite being what Im used to and I didnt think he'd be super easy to replace without spending a silly amount.

Good luck for the future

We plan to go spring / summer next year, once the house is sold and the horses are sorted,

Tierra yes thats about what I got quoted (EEEEKKK!!!) I've had a surf around their horse sales websites european warbloods like Ryu seem to go for a mad amount of money I wish he was a mare, but TBs and top end RC type things seem to be fairly good value, if we get set up with a bit of land I'll hopefully get a couple of babies to bring on and something to have fun on, not that Ive been planning or anything

Yes that was pretty much what i found. They seem to have a good market and good stock of the TB type of horses but when looking more at warmbloods, the prices went crazily high.

You must be so excited!! We emigrated in april this year although nowhere near the distance you went and although the move was a little stressful it is THE best decision we have ever made without doubt.

Imagine the house you'll be able to buy with the difference in property prices!!
