and he was so good!!
Once he came in from the field(himself and Belle come up to the gate when called now!!) and wandered into their sectioned off part of the yard.
myself and my cousin had our usual chat and petting time with them as they ate some nuts and we were able to pet both of them along the neck and torso tho Belle somtimes gives wide eyes but she settles as long as you keep talking to her in a soft voice

So we turned belle into a stable to work one on one with Tinker and he was fairly happy to stand and let both myself and brendan my cousin run our hands up and down his neck and he willl let me run my hands over his ears and head now too!!
so we decided to check how he took to having a quick release halter on him and altough he wasnt keen on it going over his ears at first he eventually put up with it..
once it was on and gentle loosed up he was quite happy to stand there and accept petting!he even had a little walk around with it on and stopped when a little pressure and the request was made!!no hysterics just a puzzeled expression on his face as if to say whats going on

so he got loads of praise and a few nuts for his patcience and we let himself and Belle back out the field..
So at the moment we are very very happy them... even my uncle who was supervising was impressed with tinker he thinks he'll make a fine pony now

Send him to me!!!! He was gorgeous on those piccies. Well done, sounds as if things are going well with them both. It's sometimes nice to have a blank canvas to do things your way. Tinker might be a good example to Bell too, sounds as if they're very close so maybe his relaxed attitude will rub off on her. Keep the updates coming

Will keep the update coming then..
Im just so shocked at how easy they are getting used to ppl they went from being too wary to eat unless you were around 3 feet from the bucket to being quite happy to stand and be handled without any major hysterics..
tho i suspect we may have those when we slip a halter on Belle...but hopefully the tinker will share his chilled attitude with her

Oh and somethingorother dont suggest sending him anywhere!! id be afraid my uncle will jump at the chance of selling them..hes a farmer and they ,like all horses, are still just livestock for profit to him..
but im hoping he'll let us keep Tinker long enough to bring him to the local show in the end of august if he's well behaved enough esp as because being able to say he went to one is all an value increser in my uncles eyes...

Well done! Sounds like a major step forward and great that you were able to do it in such a nice calm way. Look forward to hearing the next update!
