As above, it is only a beginners class, but want to do it properly :)

Would all you show people be kind enough to tell me your preparations running up to your class.

Daughter is suited and booted, and other than giving her section A a good brush up and whiten he socks, what else should I do?

Ps how do I get all the dust out if his coat, can't bath as too cold

Thanks in advance

Picture of him, so if you think we are wasting our time even turning up then feel free to tell me, but be kind :)

He obviously won't be plated, or wearing a fancy head band :)

GORGEOUS! So cute!
Ummm for dust get a damp cloth, and use a rubber curry comb to disturb all the dust in his coat then wipe it away, wash out cloth and repeat. Used to use it on the race horses. Finish with some coat gloss or alike, but on on saddle area ;)

Have fun!

I think he is properly cute. Could you hot towel him today, maybe? Also go through his tail with your fingers so every strand is tangle-free - and check that the end is neat and bang on the hocks.

On the day, warm a little vaseline between your palms and use it to highlight his hocks and knees. And a tiny bit of baby oil around nostrils / eyes.

Good luck!

Ditto the advice already. Coat shine, & if you can wash tail, shampoo & conditioner, detangler or household polish when dry. Hot towel the base of his mane & forelock well if its too cold to wash it, & comb any scurf out. Baby oil on chestnuts too. Lay mane just before class to disguise any remaining grease. And I like hot toweling with a capful of dettol in the water. Any judge who doesn't find him gorgeous is mad!

Don't bang cut his tail, as he's a mountain+moorland he should be shown looking natural! A bit of subtle shaping/trimming of mane, tail and face is allowed though x

Hot cloth him with some dettol, then wash socks and put chalk paste on his socks and brush off when you get there.

Hot clothing is fab......spritz of show shine......oil his hooves and baby oil around his eyes/muzzle ( just a touch).

Very cute:)

PS...if you are leaving his mane down plait it the night before but don't roll them up....undo them the next morning and run your fingers through and he will have a lovely wavy mane.:)

I prefer a summer sheet, but if not probably the fleece so he doesn't cook. And plait his tail from the dock down, will keep it clean & will be lovely & wavy tomorrow.

Very sweet, I'm sure they'll look very smart together...look forward to seeing some pics of the show!
Others have already given lots of good tips about turnout...I would just say to remember to tell your daughter to keep her stirrup on the ball of her foot and point her heels down which should help her balance (I'm only mentioning it because my instructor used to constantly nag me about it and its much easier to correct whilst they're young)
Hope the show goes well, I'm sure they'll both be great :)

He's a stunner! :O

Just wash his mane and tail and roughly plait to keep it clean, scrub his socks and hot towel all over (but I use vinegar not dettol)

Then in the morning rewash the socks if needed, un plait and brush though with shine and a good groom and lots of shine :D

as others have said vasline and baby oil to highlight, but pretty please don't over do it because he is an m&m, good luck :D

Have just rasps him to an inch if his life, go no more har off, mane ad tail detangler, would have plaited but he was getting soo fed up, so tomorrow I thin we get there 2 hours early, scrub, brush, whiten socks, will shine bridle and clean bit.

Is this enough ??

Apologies for selling, on phone and ont allow an edit :)
