Lottie has left the ground for the first time since Aintree in November. Road to Aintree 2024 starts now!
I am really pleased with her. She feels loose, keen, rideable. RI said she looks really strong and powerful in the back end. I have decided eventing is just too expensive given the COL Crisis, so I am focusing fully on SJ.

I am normally a wimp after a long period away from jumping, but actually felt fairly confident. Rusty though. Lots of misses!

Thanks. I'm quite excited actually. When I event, so much training is XC and dressage test focused. I am curious what a full focus on SJ might lead to. I obviously will still focus heavily on the flat, but the schooling will be different.

I've also had to branch out from eventing due to the costs and it's certainly made me look back at horses from my past and realise I missed opportunities with them in other disciplines. Are you tempted by any of the other stay away shows or any other champs you've got on your radar?

Oh yes I'm sure I will be! I am a fairly 'all or nothing' person.

There is a CAT 1 show at Aintree in July I'll go to. I wanted to go to Arena UK in Feb for their stay away show, but there are no Amateur Champs first rounds there at all so I will focus on those till I get the 5 I need.

I'll be in a blingy hat by the end of the year!

We're doing more dressage than eventing this year due to costs.
I should probably focus on SJ as I don't like it as much as the other 2 phases. However, horses are meant to be fun so I'm doing what I enjoy most.

Good luck with the season AE, I love the idea of stay away shows so you really progress over a condensed period.
