Took Millie to Allens Hill on Sunday for some show jumping on Sunday- August has been a de-spooking month as the only fences she has down eventing are when she is spooking at the commentary box
or the burger stand, or the starting board, or the photographer!
The warm up was empty which was great but for some reason I just couldnt get her how I wanted in the contact and she was a bit dead to the leg- I think she needs more warm up time if we arent eventing and havent already done dressage.
Jumped the first class (29ft) and had very fragile control as she has a lovely new trick of tossing her head, crossing her jaw and running through my half halt!
Just had the one fence down, not really sure why as felt ok over the fence?
Pictures of first class- just keep scrolling along, there are seven photos.

Then jumped the 3ft (biggest 3ft Ive seen for a while!) and decided that if she wasnt going to listen I would have to use aids a bit more- wasnt the prettiest round but we are only schooling round at the moment.
Just tapped one fence in the 2nd phase- again no issues really on approach, I think it was just a bit wider than she was expecting?
Photos from second class- again scroll along, there are 8 photos this time.

Looking through the photos I am really pleased at how she is starting to actually tuck her legs away instead of just jumping higher with dangly legs!
For comparison here is one from her first event of the season;

However, I am less impressed with myself and my wayward lower leg and the fact I seem to be trying to jump the fence for Millie and getting way ahead of her

She isnt that easy to handle around a course but I am really disappointed with myself for how I look and feel over a fence on her- it all felt so easy with Pilfer and I now realise just how much he used to help me out
Any ideas for which photos to buy from Sunday's batches- if you can find one where I don't look like a crazed monkey hanging around her neck!!
Anyway on a happier note, bourbons and doughnuts and fresh cream cakes all round for reading as someone in the office has been on a food buying splurge!
