I am feeling very chuffed with myself today. At the grand old age of 42, I went over my first jump (well more of a tiny cross pole) on my lovely mare. So, so happy with her, her ears were pricked and she really enjoyed herself. We did it in canter too!

Pointless post, but it feels like a big achievement for a wuss like me!

Tell me about your first experiences of jumping??x

Yay well done, its a big achievement to jump your first :)

Gosh I can't remeber my first jump, I must have been tiny! I've had a few hairy moments though thats for sure! :)

Brilliant! funny im of to my 1st ever dressage next week age 35, im scared stiff, jumping no problem, and i have been lucky enough to have horses for the past 24 years who would think a little walk, trot test could be so scarry!

Well done! clear round by the end of the month ? x

That's fantastic! :D Well done, you must be so chuffed with yourself!

My first ever experience of jumping involved my then instructor yelling at me to 'lean forward'. It's no wonder I didn't become any John Whitaker! ;)

Thank you all for your replies and encouragement! We've done some dressage (first prelim last week), but always thought jumping was for the younger ones! I'd love to have a go at a clear round (I'm lucky enough to be on a yard where we hold competitions), but I think this may be some way off yet!
