Hi everybody, the riding community in Liverpool has had a sad loss this week. Wheahill Riding School has been sold to developers for a reported 1.25million and they are going to bull doze the whole lot.

Its a sad loss to the community with 18 school horses and 45 livery horses all need to find new homes in 6 weeks.

Wheathill has taught many children to ride and its heartbreaking to see the children not understanding why their fav school pony is being sold and why they can not come riding anymore, the tears where difficult to miss at the weekend.

What a valuable resourse Wheathill was and it will be sadly missed by all. We are supposed to be the capital of culture 2008, more like the capital of concrete.

Thats sad, i used to work at a riding school when i was a kid and its where i got my first pony from. The same thing happened to that. I went back once to see what it was like but i wouldnt go back again it was so sad. I just have my memories and old photos to look at.

Very sad and unfortunately it is becoming an all to familiar story at the moment

No sorry their is no story, the deal was done very fast, so its not been in the papers but everybody is talking about it

i am based at a near by riding school, livery yard and we are getting about 10 of their liveries and some school ponies. we know the owners of wheathill well and it seems as tho they had had enough of all the politics and when someone offers you that sort of money can you blame them?
