Well it's been a rollercoaster of a ride so far but I have been owned by the wonderful H for a year now, and boy what a year it's been. I probably post way too many updates of our non-achievements so thought I'd just share some pics of our first year together.
This was the day he arrived at the yard. I got the farrier down the next day to sort his rather long toes out
Our first ride at home. I owe this to all the lovely HHOers who encouraged me to hop on if only for 5 minutes when my nerves got the better of me.
I discovered his love of hoses if only for drinking out of!
And his secret desire to be a dog...
Finally I dug out my brave pants and started hacking out alone...
Although it didn't always go to plan
We started working in a pessoa (this was his first time wearing it hence the looseness)
And little by little we started to work as a team
He may not be the straightforward confidence giver I initially thought I'd bought, but in his own special way he's helped me become a much more engaged rider and I'm starting to feel braver, oh and did I mention he's also super cute?
So thanks to all the wonderful HHOers who've offered us help and kind words over the last year, and here's to many more wonderful years with my shadow
