After all, you don't need to open a thread anymore.

Post-I've bred my opedigree dog to another pedigree
Response-Have you screened it? Why breed more when there are dogs in rescue? (Unless your a certain regular show breeder in which case apparantly its fine..)

Post-I've bred a crossbred
Answer-OMG how irresponsible are you. You should be shot. Poor dogs. Poor puppies who are going straight to rescues. Poor bitch who is going to need a c-section and reject the pups. They will have ALL the bad diseases a dog can have and be aggressive-and all be the wrong colour and male..

Post-I'm having a nice day with my dog, here s apicture of him eating his food (+ pic of commercial food)
-OMG your dog is going to die of cancer/kidney disease/BADNESS as its not on raw diet. OMG you're such a bad owner. AHHH. Put it on raw immediately. Buy a large freexer, it's really cheap and handy.

My dog runs away
-Long line it

My dog is difficult-
your not good enough to be a dog owner.

ring any bells?

Ha ha just what I was thinking! I have two black dogs which apparently no one wants both rescues one is a dreaded cross breed (although not a trendy one) the other a pure bred lab he must be an exception to the rule of all Pedigree breeding being responsible he he x

well at least we dont need to read your posts susiet, they are always negative drivel. I swear you would argue black was white if it took your fancy

She has a point here though.
Its like in New Lounge - my horse has cut its ear, well go barefoot then, how can you put shoes on, no one needs them.

'Oh and by way of an olive branch, may I offer your own 'favourite' Susie -

My dog eats the house/wees everywhere - shut it in a box '

:D

Whilst I agree with you about NL, I've never found it to be like that in here and I have to be one of the biggest offenders! I arrived with a badly bred x breed dog fed on cheap crappy food that runs away when it's walked and chews the house every day - and all I received was support, guidance and advice. No one jumped down my throat because I wasn't doing things their way, and lots of people offered me real life support away from the forum. Because of that, i've met some lovely people from AAD & I have a lot to thank them for.

I'm sorry to say this, but SusieT does make a valid point, assuming that I haven't misunderstood her.

There are some very closed minds within AAD. They're closed, because they've assumed others to be correct, when through limited experience, a rule is set, be it: Feeding raw, Caging, Extending leads, Castrating dog puppies, or puppy socialising classes.

We need to consider the thoughts of others, a little more perhaps. ;)

Alec.

Everyone bangs on about people on here preaching RAW feeding, but in reality not that many people on here do feed a full raw diet?
I know one or two who do, and one or two that feed a part raw diet but there are also a whole heap of people on here who feed kibble...Skinners, Arden Grange, Fish4Dogs etc etc...
Its not a particularly raw biased dog forum, from what I have found.

I have one on raw, one on dry but I am scared at how much I enjoy feeding raw :o :o :o I think I may need a new hobby :p

I'm the same.

...feeding wise, I mean. (I don't enjoy feeding raw it grosses me out & I make my husband do it.) But yes, like you, one on raw and one on dry.

Not closed minds, just people with an opinion based on experiences they have had.

I feed both Dobes on Kibble, LH pup gets raw 5days a week.

Like you Lexie I use a clicker, always fought against it but it has worked wonders for my dogs, but it is just one tool of many in my tool box so no closed mind here.

I also use the dreaded cage for the pup and in the past I thought it was cruel but can see what a difference its made to house training for our pup who was clean in days. Its like a lot of things used correctly it works and I pride myself in keeping up with the times, no living in the past for me I prefer to keep an open mind.

The is an old saying dont knock until youve tried it.

I wouldn't say that we're a closed minded bunch - but perhaps a bit strident in voicing our voices - some more than others and about certain topics.

I have learned by keeping my mouth shut and my eyes open. However, on some things that I DO happen to know about -- I often find that others are happy to oppose my opinion. Rather than start an argument I just smile and move on. I am not that bothered. And yet there are a few things that I am loathe to ask questions on or voice an opinion ....

But shut down AAD? Hm, naw - where else would I get ignored so well or be able to be a thread killer with such effectiveness?!;)

Ooh err! I fear I am an example of a very bad and non-conforming ADD viewer  I have an all-female collection of dogs. 2 are crossbreeds; 1 bred by myself and delightful she is too even if I do say so myself. The others are pedigrees. My dogs are all fed part raw and part kibble. They've never been shut in a house in their lives let alone a crate. Most of them have never been for a walk and only one has experience of being on a lead. They are free range dogs. They've never been to puppy socialising classes and tbh they've never been anywhere really. Funnily enough they are incredibly good, obedient and very well behaved dogs in spite of all this. I lurve my doggies cos they are the best :):)

I really enjoy this forum learnt a lot. I feed raw, I love it, dogs love it BUT when I go away or dogs in kennels then kibble it is, if I moved to somwhere with no garden, then I would go kibble its nice I can feed a gold star diet but I am not gonna kick myself if I can't. Although would go grain free with Teal.

SusieT you say that the posts are always the same yet you were one of the first to post. So why bother? Yes we.all sort of agree your opinions, but wouldn't have put them so aggressively. Forums are about critic and debate not a fight.
