Had a jumping clinic at our yard this morning with Alexander Peternell, who is based just up the road. I was quite nervous, as I'm not the most confident of people jumping, but I had a really good time!

Genie bucked me off before we even jumped anything (>_<). We found canter just a little bit too exciting today... It's very very rare that she'll buck! However once we were jumping she was very good, and I feel that I have learn a lot. A few dirty runouts, but on the whole excellent.

We didn't jump particularly big, highest was one at about 2'6ish, but I was so chuffed with our improvement in the time (1 1/2 hours that went on for almost 2) that I'm not at all bothered about height.

very well done you, I am scared of jumping over 2ft unless its only a single fence, so I think 2ft6 is a huge achievement!

I have recently got a welshie mare, and she is a fab jumper so I hope she will bring my confidence on in the same way Genie has with you!! mind you, jumping a double clear in a 1ft6 class this morning was a huge achievement so we've got a way to go!! lol

well done! height isn't an issue- its all about how you are riding e.g. approaches, turns etc etc. better to practice small and get the basics right rather than do what a lot of people do which is whack up the height before they are ready and then scare themselves and their horses!
