Down a long track from our yard and around a huge field at the bottom then back up.
Not much i know but i was interested to see how he handled being taken away from the other horses and yard safety.
He was amazing, we investigated some rubbish dumped in a hedge and a big metal barrel with no worries well a slightly nervous face but he had a pat and was fine!
It was fairly windy and the hedges were blustering round a bit but there was no spookiness or naughtiness we stopped regularly just to stand still and look round- again no problem.
There is no way in the world a lone walk with my 9 yr old horse would have been anywhere near as easy so i'm very pleased with him!

It feels so rewarding doesn't it...........I have started to walk my baby ( 2yrs ) around the local village and he too is very well mannered, I think it is great education for them.............and makes it so much easier when you want to hack them out once they are backed.

Hi, just wanted to add about my little 2 year old superstar...We went for our first walk ever down what's normally a quiet lane and typical, 2 cars came along and he didn't bat an eyelid...I'm such a proud mummy!!!!
We did have my friends mare as company but when she spooked at a crisp packet blowing across the road my little man just watched her and wondered what all the fuss was about!!!
It was also the first time he had his bit in for more than a couple of minutes and he didn't mind it at all.
We are off for another walk at the weekend :D
