Weaning day today - 2nd November 2014.

We separated Missy and Rory an hour before Missy left. There was a lot of calling, mad galloping from Rory and nervous peeing and then the trailer arrived.
Missy has only ever loaded twice, it took about an hour both times and I was left wondering how long it would take. I needn't have worried, the little champ walked onto the trailer, stood still while we secured her and didn't kick off when locked in. I was in awe.

Missy went off and I stayed with the boys for a couple of hours. After a few minutes of frantic whinnying and galloping around, Rory settled down and began grazing. His companion, Finn the Shetland, just stayed by his side.

And then I received updates of Missy in her new home. I was told she unloaded like a pro, went with the other ponies and settled in right away. She is now grazing quietly and happily in her new herd.

Relieved that it's over but sad because I feel like a chapter has ended. Time for a cuppa I think!
