I was very worried with Super being weaned from Bandit as she's very attached to him. They weaned them yesterday and I went up today to make sure they were ok.
Well, I couldn't find Super so I went to Bandit first. He seems ok and wasn't looking too stressed at all - didn't seem to miss her at all! Unlike the poor chestnut foal with him who seems to be missing his mummy more - was trying to suckle from Bandit - poor thing!
I asked one of the guys there where they hid Super so he directed me nearly to the next county! I had to drive to the back of the stud, drive through a field and they were in a field at the back of that again! When they separate the mares from their foals, they separate them! Super was there as bright as a button and not stressed at all - she doesn't seem to miss Bandit at all! The guy said she didn't even call out after him, just settled down to eat the new grass - that's her alright! They said they milked her a bit as she still has a bit of a bag.
I'll be moving her back to the livery yard soon - when they've got room but I'll bring her there anyway and put her on grass livery until they've a stable available.
Well that's the weaning update - very uneventful really. But I'm happy they're alright and not too stressed out by the whole thing
Thanks for reading!
