Hi,

I am a first time 'accidental' breeder and could really do with some advice...

I bought a beautiful grey ISH mare last year, who later turned out to be in foal to a colt by Hibiskus.

She's nearly 6 months old now (I don't recommend foaling in October and then having one of he worst winters on record!) and getting seriously BIG and strong - she was born jet black, but it already flecking with grey, so it looks like she'll take after her mother.

My dilemma is what to register her as - I event, and I hope to keep her and back/produce her myself. I have the vet coming on Thursday next week to begin her vaccination regime (she's already had the recommended tetenus jabs).

So I think my choices are between the Trakhener Society or the ISH Society - can anyone help me? I have absolutely no experience or knowledge on these things and would really, really appreicate some advice and direction.

Many thanks

Jenny :)

TBF will be very helpful and can register the foal as being a granddaughter of Hibiskus, she will qualify under the 25% rule. You can then show the foal at the breed show in the part bred classes if you want to.
You will need to submit a DNA sample from the foal and stallion due to her age, but her full pedigree will be able to be recorded.
I'd definatly go TBF

Volatis - thank you, thats really helpful.

I'm showing my ignorance here, but can you please tell me what TBF stands for?!

Thank you!

Jen :)
