Wearing Comb Spurs

Ive just bought a pair of comb spurs to try on my horse, I've heard that they are useful for jumping and my horse can be abit lazy but I didn't want to use the usual spurs that you see as these are meant to be slightly milder for the horse.
Just wondering though, do I wear them as I would a regular spur?
They are on the inside of the heel, so I am wondering would I need them lower down than a normal set of spurs or where you would ususally wear them ie.

I have ridden in spurs many times before, just that these are a new type I havent tried so help would be appreciated, I obviously don't want to do more harm than good!

BB, as far as I know you wear the comb spur as you would a normal spur.

I have never used them myself but have heard mixed debates on them. Some think they are great as they give a reinforced leg aid (as you don't need to turn the heel to use the spur) while others think they are a bad idea as you are continuously giving an increased aid, opposed to a 'oi, listen up' that a more traditional spur gives at appropriate times.

I have got a couple of pairs of comb spurs - I used them a lot on Mousey. I found that they were enough to sharpen him up but when he was going forwards my heels were more off his sides (as I'm quite tall on him!) so didn't give the aid then.

I rode in them as though a normal spur and almost forgot I had them on, as you didn't feel them make contact with the horse.

Use them as a normal spur but be very careful as it's too easy to be using them all the time - I tried them but much prefer 'traditional' spurs as you have to make a conscious decision to touch your horse with them whereas with the comb spurs they are touching the horses side all the time if you are not very experienced with them.
