Okay peeps - I need your top tips for wearing in new leather boots please :D At the moment they are very tall, very stiff and rather uncomfortable. I know they will get better with age but it's been several decades since I've had new ones, so I would love the benefit of your experience!

Many thanks

If you get damp newspaper and stuff it well into the boots it will swell them. Just be careful if you have a nice lining that the newsprint doesn't come off on it.

Before wearing new boots, rub Vaseline on all of the contact points on the foot that are susceptible to blistering, such as your toes and heel. This will help reduce friction against your skin and help prevent blisters forming.

Wear them in around the house first so your wear them in well.

Invest in a correct boot tree or buy an inflatable boot tree (moutain horse)

or

Or invest in a shoe stretcher spray:

enjoy your boots. If you look after them well they will last you a lifetime. I give mine a good clean with saddle soap and them put them in a bag in my boot of my car and always put the inflatable boot trees in them and zip them up first.

Thank you Applecart! My last boots lasted me for 30 years so I'm hoping these will as well.

I suspect that just lots of riding in them is what is required to get them into the position I want but it's blooming agony! It must have hurt when I wore my first pair but I guess I was young and didn't notice the pain. Now I'm a grumbly old woman, and I really do notice the pain!

Any other ideas?
