All week Oxfordshire has had a bit of rain. Not much, but today its been consistantly coming down since lunchtime and sinking in.

Aston starts tomorrow, and the ground there should be good as theyve been preparing it for a week or so.

The rain is set to continue throughout the weekend, showers mainly but heavy at times. (Bang goes the picnic idea

)

Anyway, at least now hopefully some of the summer events wont be so hard

and less withdrawals YAY!

Shame this weekend isnt badminton weekend....... good luck to all at Chatsworth.

Has started to rain here in Nottinghamshire which is hopefully good news for Chatsworth (we had a bit on Monday and Tuesday night as well). Saying that I drove past Chatsworth earlier today on my way back from Manchester, and the sun was shining brightly! Hopefully the rain is on its way up there!!

Did you get into the PN with Snoop at Aston? Or are you doing another intro?

we need a good week of this though to make any real effect. The top inch or two are softening now but deeper is still like concrete. Thankfully that is exactly what is forecasted for my way for the next 2 weeks on and off rain, so hopefully that will get the ground softer and useable again for the June events when undoubtably it will harden up again! but knowing the weather forecasts it will either last a month or 2 days!!!

been heavy drizzle in the Warwickshire.... should be nice for Aston, just fingers crossed for Chatsworth!

Well those at chatsworth will be glad to know I live 20 mins away & it is currently chucking it down; we also had showers yesterday & monday - & have more forecast for fri, sat & sun! So fingers crossed, it should be at least a bit softer!

It been really wet down here and looks an interesting forecast for my few day at Dorset showground.

Thinking about Chepstow that gets notoriously bad weather - knowing how this year has gone who would take bets about the BE being rained off?

Walked the course at Aston this afternoon, they've done miracles with the ground. It was pouring when I was there too so I'd say the going is good and possibly even soft in patches.

YAY! get Mr P out again.

I chickened out riding this evening, was pouring this evening, and really didnt feel it fair to take the boys rugs off to get them soaked.

Will do tomorrow tho, come rain or shine! they will be worked.... gosh if this carries on, ppl will think im soft

I hope it carries on raining as our fields are like glass, just the top wet and the underneath brick hard.
I was driving some relatives round the farm today (something I do a lot in the RR) and to my utter embarrassment the car started getting stuck on a hill, then spinning in circles. The baby started sreaming, the toddler cried and I swiftly stuck the thing into low hill gear and managed to slide round enough until I pointed downhill again. (should I say there was a steep drop into the pond immediately next to me whilst I skidded about

)
Pretending I wasn't bothered I drove sideways across the gentle slope until I could get back on to the level..
So my first thought is I wouldn't want to gallop a horse in those conditions, people are going to have to use pointy studs I reckon...

Sorry but *snigger*

I bet the relis loved that lol

My fields are pretty poor, moved my 3 into the back field, has plenty of natural shelter at least, but not huge amounts of grass.

Front field i hope will recover, although YO has a horse out there.

Where my boys have been this morning i was poo picking, we had rain last night, and boys were walking around due to the flies.... they were making dirty tracks!! arghhh!

Yup, bucketing it down this evening (naturally...as had a xc lesson!) and ground is getting lovely now!
