how do u rug for it? i am going up in a minute to turn the horsey out and its like 5degrees and foggy and probs wil be until abouit 10/11 until it lift and becomes sunny and warm. do i put a no fill on and hope she doesnt bake later or not put one on and hope she doesnt get cold this morn.

very annoyingly i am at college in the day time so i dont get the chance on mondays to come up in day to chop and change rugs x

It isn't going to be quite as sunny as yesterday, If I had to be away all day I would prob turn out in LW today. As it is they will go out in the MW they had on overnight and I'll take them off mid morning if it clears.

Nadia had a MW stable rug on last night and has gone out naked today and mum shettie who was clipped yesterday will go out in a lw today and if it warms up enough today mum will go and take it off later.

I had the same dilemma this morning, it was chilly and foggy at 7am but forecast to get sunny. I had to be brave and get them naked knowing they'd bake if I left them in rugs. Left them with plenty of hay and as it was so foggy at least nobody could see how cruel I'd been as you couldn't see more than 10 yards!

I would always rather they tended to being cooler than too hot (assuming not chucking it down with rain and windy!) so both of ours go out naked at the moment as they wouldn't need a lw when it warms up. If I am concerned it is too chilly when they are turned out then they get a little hay in the field to get their internal heaters working away! I hate hate hate seeing horses too hot, I really think it is so cruel, not to mention poor for their health. Horses are brilliant at heating themselves up, but they really are rubbish at cooling themselves down as they just don't have a mechanism to deal with this.

My 2 clipped out horses had a couple of naked days over the weekend, they had no neck middle weights on over night.
It was quite cold this morning but I still took their rugs off as the weather forecast was for a warm day but it didn't get warm until lunch time so I felt quite guilty. I made sure they both had hay to provide some central heating; it's a lovely warm day now so I'm pleased I took their rugs off.
It's supposed to be warm for the next few days so they'll be spending a lot more time naked.
