Ok, is anyone else getting fed up with the weather yet? Just went on the bbc weather website and theyve forcasted heavy snow showers for Sunday! Its doing my head in! By the time i get the horses rug free its going to be nearly winter! its supposed to be spring now, its supposed to be wet, but warm... the works supposed to be evaporating and were supposed to be able to enjoy our horses more because theres more time to just chill with them... were not supposed to be lugging rugs across the field, whilst getting stuck ankle high in mud!

Yep I am starting to get fed up with it, I can't see our fields drying out enough for us to be able to start turning out again for at least another month. And if the weather continues, who knows when they will get out of their stables

I'm really fed up, and our fields are so muddy you get stuck which is downright dangerous! Horses are bored or haylage and desperate for some proper grass. Chewing the fences as they're bored. Can't put them on the rested fields yet though or they'll be trashed in no time as they're so wet. I also noticed its going back down to zero over night at the weekend, when will this ever end!?

Glad im not the only one with horses stuck in winter field! started to worry it was me being evil and possessive over my ground conditions!

Ours haven't been moved yet - we're having to wait until the weather really does dry up to avoid trashing another field.

So you're not on your own.

Ginger one is forced to share 42.5 acres of beautifully drained, managed pasture with 3 friends. Lots of grass and not mud at all. Fields rotated every 3 weeks do plenty of rest time.

bet you all really wanted to know that didn't you.
Is there a 'smug git' smiley?

On the downside I have dressage training on sunday.

My sis has taken our horses rugs off the last few days apparently (i'm not there), and they are now turned out full time on the winter field - like it or lump it! My sis is too lazy to continue mucking them out - ha ha!

Luckily they are mud pigs at heart and just love to scrub all the mud right in, well keeps them extra warm doesn't it?!

It's quite nice and warm here at the moment...

Anyway, aside from rain, snow and mud I have been getting severely peed off with the high winds that won't seem to leave us alone. Every bloody day it's high winds and he acts like a total wimp jumping at all the flapping plastic. I can't even groom him outside properly as the dried mud keeps blowing in my face and I can't see through bits of stray hair that I can't keep tied up!

I've now fallen off once and twisted my ankle another time when he spooked and leapt sideways. It still isn't quite right 3 weeks later! Stupid wind

We had a great hack on Sunday, no wind and nice and sunny. Wishing for more of that at the weekend![/rant]
