Has anyone else got one of these?
I like weatherbeeta rugs, but this is the first one I really don t like. It has like a fleecy neck liner which fastens on elastic and two Velcro fasteners, I was a bit dubious about it when I first saw it. I put it on yesterday and the waterproof neck which sits over the top of it had folded right back leaving the fleecy bit exposed to the elements. The horse was stood by the gate waiting for me and when I got there he was scratching away at the elastic bit , which I feel could have easily got caught on the fence post. The lowert edges of the rug had all curled up as well which ive never had with any other rug.
I was amazingly oraganised with this rug and bought it a few months ago ..ready for when we needed it. I don t really feel its fair to go back to the company I bought it from due to the time delay.
Has anyone else had the same problem with this rug?

I had one through winter last year, and now have two this year, and never had that issue. The only wee part I didn't like was the very upper clunk clip thing on the fleece - the velcro straps are sufficient without the added clip under the throat. I think the wee fleecey cuff is fab for keeping the elements and drafts from blowing down the neck. I like that the necks are generous enough to allow plenty of room, yet the wee cuff keeps them snug.

They are one of the only rugs which fit my boy, so Im biased :p

must just be me then! that fastener bit on the neck is the bit I don t like, he was literally scratching that on a fence post and I took the huff , had a tantrum and cut the fleece bit out!
Im needing another rug now!

I bought these when they first came out around 10 yrs ago, and hated the neck covers as they used to blow up in the wind and the lining would get soaked. I ended up buying the full neck versions instead. But now they are around twice the price! I have the Amigo bravo and hero versions with detachable necks now and they don't seem to blow up at the neck or leak at all.

I have a couple of these for different horses. the geldings fleece seems to stay down the neck, he has the detach a neck version. the mare has the all in one and the fleece sticks out above the waterproof section. she always look like i am trying to kill her when i do up that last plastic fastner!
but the rugs are bang on for quality, full of little bits that make them really good i think. i had a major problem with the gelding when i first got it, he destroyed part of it the first days he wore it, and weathabeeta were really good about it and replaced the liner and gave me a spare neck.

i would recommend them.

I got one for this winter after having a Duo for the last 6 years. I have the same problem with the fleecey bit in the neck. I am going to cut it out as it just gets wet in the rain because it sticks out at the end.

I think it is a brilliant rug, but my horse tends to sweat under it (he only wore the outer one night and it was only 5 degrees)! It appears to be very warm - I don't know if it doesn't breathe as well as it should or if it is just a very warm rug. I have put it away again until the real winter sets in when I shall get it out again and see how it goes.

At least im not the only one!
I will still get a weatherbeata just not that one.

I got a Freestyle last year and the bottom hem curled up like to describe from front to back (both sides) after 1 wear in the rain! I got in touch with the company sending them photos and they refunded me most of my money and I kept the rug. It still worked fine but it certainly wasn't meant to do that and it looked unsightly.
