This is going to seem like such a stupid question! I got a bundle of rugs with my big lad and I've only just started looking through what is there. In one bag there is a Weatherbeeta Taka High neck which his ex owner said was his heavyweight stable rug but having looked at it I'm almost certain it's a turnout. Am I right that the Taka was a turnout and not stable rug? It does seem like a fairly soft material but it's been cleaned so I think it's just that clean soft way. Also looks kind of ballistic woven material rather than nylon.
Just don't fancy trying to turn the lad out in it and finding out it's not waterproof!

Taka rugs are definately turnouts, they're a really good quality & expensive rug. I would get it reproofed though. They should last for years.

Thanks everyone1 I'm not as mad as I thought! It has been professionally cleaned and reproofed according to the label attached from the cleaners so should be set to go. His old owner wasn't very with it, she spent a fortune on rugs for him last winter, all a size too small and this one must have been there all the time but she hasn't realised it's a turnout. One less for me to buy!
