I could do with getting some winter stuff sorted for newbie pony.
We have tried several rugs on him to find a size guide and he varies between brands from 5'6 to 5'9.
I dont have a weatherbeeta to try for size and am currently ill so not doing horses anyway. (more time to internet shop!!)
I have found a weatherbeeta Tri-star at an amazingly good price but they only have 5'6 left. He is fairly short in the body but chunky round the neck- opinions please? do i buy it
The same place also has Amigo's in 5'6 on offer- how would these fit his sort?

Slightly random i know- how long is a piece of string question but am only used to shopping for a TB and know exactly what brands fit him.

personally i would say you are better to go for a weatherbeeta orican rather than a tri star, as the tri stars arent very durable, i got one and it only lasted three weeks of living out 24/7 and playfulness between the geldings, whereas the orican rug i got for last winter has lasted with him being out with the youngsters, they come in nicer colours to, as for size wise, the tristars if i remember are rather genorous i think most weatherbeetas are, as a 6"6 masta doesnt fit taz in the front or the bum yet a weatherbeeta gives plenty room

Sounds like the same sort of fit as my youngster, he is a 5'9 in mark todd although i have to ajust the straps quite tight, but a 5'6 weatherbeeta seems to fit him perfectly, same on my old pony who is very long in the back so 5'9 in amigo but the 5'6 weatherbeeta fits him fine, he is quite skinny around the shoulders though so they tend to gape around the neck.
Personally i would go for the Weatherbeeta for a horse of the type of build they are nice rugs too!

Thank you! I think will go for the WB then- they dont have the orican so not an option but at this price its not really like i'm spending a fortune anyway.
Although durability would be good as he's just a baby!
