Weatherbeeta v Rambo

I have never had a horse yet which a Weatherbeeta rug fitted properly

That ranges from a LW cob to a SF to a TB

Rambo/Rhino/Amigo have fitted them all really well

I know several people on my yard that have WBs and my Rambos have outlasted them all

.. I do like the massive tail flaps on the WBs but that's the only advantage IMO

I've found they wear fine if you get one of the heavier duty ones. Never had an issue with fit. I have an Orican combo and it's lasted well. That said, they don't compare to rambo which are much better but a lot more expensive. No matter how strong they can still get ripped and for that reason I go with Weatherbeeta.

Having just bought a horse straight from a stud, therefore had nothing I have just bought a Rambo Duo. My previous horse had WB, which I was pretty happy with, except I do truely believe that Rambos are the ONLY l/w rug that satys 100% after a couple of years....

I bougt a Duo (£150) cause it was quite easy to work out it would be chearer than buying a WB lw (£60), mw (£80) and hw (£100) seperately....

I love my horseware rugs and they are all over 10 years old and still waterproof and wash up like new
However.......
My fields are on the top of a hill with no shelter and I have now bought them a Weatherbeeta freestyle each to go on top as the tail flaps are great and keep out the drafts well. I have noticed however that after one winter they are looking tattier than my 10 year old horseware rugs

Would agree that the Rambos are the better of the 2. My Rambo Duo has gone through 3 winters, washed and re-proofed up like new and never leaked. Do also like the WB's and their large tail flaps which come nice and low down to keep out the wind. Both fit my hanov/tbred very well.

I seem to be in the minority but I love Weatherbeta, my lad has huge movement from his shoulder and their freestyle Landas are great, he has torn rugs in the shoulder/chest area because of his movement before but never a Weatherbeta.

I love the WBs, but only the original side gusset ones as the Freestyle ones dont seem to fit any of mine.
I have had some of their rugs years and still look good and do the job well.
Do agree that the Freestyle tail flaps are good though.

I love my rambo but my tb is v v narrow and I find the necks too big on the rambo now

so he has a wb for his main winter turnout I do make him suffer somedays in his purple wug as he looks so pretty in it

Rambo are really good, but thats what you're paying for. If cash is short WB aren't bad for the cheaper /middle market. I've also found that WB are cut a bit deeper - fitted my Cleveland Bay well whereas i had to buy a rambo XL to get the same depth and then it came up a bit big on the neck. Much as I love em Rambo just didn't seem to work very well on her, the little fatty. Rambo's for the slimmer beasties!

Hmm, had a rambo duo which i really didn't like. l/w WB that i didn't like and 2 full neck WB oricans that i loved! They didn't seem to fit very well at th chest but they never moved, rubbed or leaked. If you're looking for a decent mid-priced rug i'd go for PE. I think their rugs are really good. Or for a long term option I'd fork out for a fal

I loved Ginny's old WB. But she ripped it (on barbed wire I didn't even know was there!! How does she find these places?!) I truly loved that rug, it never slipped once and kept the draft out perfectly. It was a freestyle.
Then mums TB had another WB (not the freestyle) and it fitted her without slipping too!!.

I'm very impressed with them
