Apologies for what is probably a daft question but do weatherbys only issue passports for TBs?
My horse is on the NTR which I just assumed was because her damsire is unregistered but it's occurred to me that she may not even be full TB. Is there a specified limit for how much TB blood they need to have?

Weatherbys can issue passports for any horse and they will be put on the Non Thoroughbred Register. To be eligible to race they need to be 7/8 tb I think. The enter the pure need stud book they need to be 100%tb with proven bloodlines back as far as way back when.

Thanks for your response EKW. So is there any way to find out her breeding? I've googled parents, reference number, breeder etc to no avail.
Sire is king Persian, dam Nikita's pet vii and she was born in 2002. Breeder is William j Murphy.
There are no previous owners etc recorded in passport but she had jabs done in 2006 (age 4) in banbridge.

If any of her parents, grand parents and so on are not registered with Weatherbys then no they will not have that information. They could be registered with another breed society/passport issuing service but tracking them down is a nightmare unless you know exactly what and who you are looking for.

She doesn't have a name on her passport unfortunately. So as the dam's breeding is unrecorded that means she could be as little as 50%TB?
