I just bought FSS webbers -- the ends are too bulky and don't fit through ANY of the stirrup irons I own, including some fancy brands.
I have had to return them which is not a problem, but the seller explained they "work fine" with FSS stirrups. Hmmmm ... Ok.

More to the point, is this a common problem with webbers? Can anyone recommend a brand for me? (Or I'll stick to normal leathers which I've never had a problem with but I was feeling posh lol)

I have Bates webbers and my 2 saddles. They look like they wont fit through, but lots and lots of brute force and a hoof pick and they go in in the end :)

I bought a pair of Wintec, and the loop end at the top (the end without the metal 'T') fitted through my stirrups where the metal 'T' didn't.

Shame I had to return them anyway as they were for my treeless and it has closed rings as opposed to stirrup bars...

Thanks, sounds like a different brand might be worth a try then, perhaps the Bates ones.

Both sides were so bulky, there was absolutely no chance of getting them in, tried a variety of forceful means but decided I'd best return them before damaging them beyond return!

Thanks everyone. Are the Wintec ones fairly supple? I once tried a pair of normal leathers by Wintec and the plastic was so stiff! They are a good price so may not be a bad option to start with to see if I like!

mmm, i wouldn't say they are massively supple but they are so lightweight and thin that you get no bulk at all, the others i tried that didn't fit were softer but really bulky ugly things. iv'e got a lady riding with me now who had never heard of these type of leathers and she loves them.

The wintec ones are better, but not the same as the bates ones. I might have a spare pair of black Bates kicking about somewhere, now I've downsized to one horse, if you want to try a second hand pair?

Only saw this today -- so thanks but ordered my Wintec ones yesterday and they arrived this morning while I was out.

I am very pleasantly surprised. I thought they would be like the normal Wintec leathers, which are so plastic and awful, but these are proper equileather - very soft and not at all bulky. Thumbs up from me, they are actually much nicer than the first set I bought. I would never have imagined that!

My Bates ones were tricky when they were new, but a bit of baler twine fed through the loop on the webbers and a couple of sharp yanks soon sorted them out!
