Wedding carriage accident

What a dreadful thing to happen. I hope the driver recovers and am pleased the bride did eventually get to her wedding.

When I lived in Scotland, if I drove my horse, my husband used to follow behind in his Lexus with lights flashing to protect my slow moving Ralli car from the idiots with whom we share the highway.

Huge amounts of taxpayers money has been poured into the National Cycle Network, SUSTRANS were very active in the Scottish Parliament. I wish as much air time were given to the needs of horse riders and drivers, to be safe also.

Road icy , both car and carriage driver should of known better . We wouldnt do weddings if the road conditions were not suitable . Wedding parties were informed at the time of booking that if the weather was not suitable a car would be provided . Ok , bride maybe disappointed , but at least all would be safe. On a positive note all are fine , one wonders if the horse mentally will recover tho?

I have been told, and I dont know if it is correct, that the car ran up the back of the wedding carriage ''because the sun was in drivers eyes''
Nothing to do with ice
The carriage had travelled quite a distance before the accident

If you can't see because of sunshine you should slow down!!! I used to drive to work on the M25, west to east. Early morning sunrise was a real problem in the winter. You have to drive for the road conditions. I hope the driver gets the book thrown at him.

A shunt from behind was my worst fear, hence my husband driving behind with flashers going.

I once saw an accident involving a wedding carriage - years ago now but it looked so terrifying. One of the horse's broke free and was loose on the inner ring road

Hope everyone is ok.
